Sarvajan Pension Yojana
The Government of Jharkhand has launched the Sarvajan Pension Yojana, a scheme aimed at providing pensions to impoverished citizens above the age of 60. Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive a monthly pension of ₹1000, which will be directly deposited into their bank accounts on the 5th of each month. In an effort to raise awareness about the program, Chief Minister Hemant Soren organized an awareness campaign in Gumla district. Previously, eligibility for the scheme was limited to APL and BPL ration cardholders, but the government has now eliminated this requirement.
To ensure that all eligible beneficiaries can avail themselves of the scheme, government representatives will visit their homes to collect the necessary information. A comprehensive list of beneficiaries will be compiled, and their applications will be processed accordingly. In addition to poor senior citizens, the Sarvajan Pension Yojana will also extend benefits to destitute individuals, widowed women above 18 years of age, disabled citizens above 5 years.
