Eligibility Criteria
- Individuals without a meal plan can apply for a ration card.
- Women in a family are eligible to apply for a ration card.
- Applicants must be residents of Assam State.
- Any citizen can apply for this scheme.
- The annual income of a resident must be less than 1,000,000 rupees.
Types of Ration Cards in Assam
- Antyodaya Ration Card: People with a per capita income of less than Rs 250 per month can apply for this ration card. Antyodaya ration card holders are entitled to 35 kg of rice at Rs 3.
- BPL Ration Card: Below Poverty Line (BPL) families with an annual income of ₹ 27,000 can apply for this ration card.
- APL Ration Card: Citizens belonging to the Above Poverty Line (APL) category can apply for an APL ration card. There is no income limit for this category, allowing all eligible individuals to apply.
- Blue/Pink/Red Ration Card: Families belonging to the above poverty category can obtain these ration cards. Special subsidies, such as discounted prices for kerosene, are offered to cardholders. Families without gas or liquid gas connections can also apply for this type of ration card.
